Pat Robertson Retiring From Virginia College Post

Regent University has announced that its founder, Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson, will step down next summer as the president. The 79-year-old will retire from the position effective July 1, 2010. Robertson became the university's sixth president in 2000. He will continue to serve as chancellor and on the board of trustees at the Virginia Beach school known for its evangelical Christian perspective. A new president is expected to be named by the fall semester of 2010. [The Associated Press]
