Sermon - Luke 3:21-22 - Gifted to Serve

Today's Sermon is posted for those who might be interested. You can find it at WasecaChurch.org (Direct Link).

Here's a teaser:

When you read through the Gospels, you never find an account where Matthew, Mark, Luke or John make any mention of Jesus’ physical attributes. They never tell us anything about His talents or His abilities. Maybe He was a great juggler, and we’ll never know. Or maybe He was a really good cook – Ya’ know…He made the most delicious camel-tater-tot hot dish… But instead, the disciples wrote about Jesus’ wisdom and His power that is displayed through His life. Their writing chronicles the power of the Holy Spirit in His life and ministry as He fulfilled the Father’s purpose.

You cannot understand the life and ministry of Jesus without recognizing the work of the Holy Spirit. We don’t often think of it that way, or at least I don’t, but when you look at it with fresh eyes, you’ll see it quite clearly. And when you see this relationship between Jesus and the Holy Spirit it makes it easier to see how the Spirit can work in your life as well. The same One who has gifted Him has gifted you.
