Abort73.com is disturbing and powerful

Tonight I discovered Abort73.com while surfing some blogs. I am stunned. The sight contains a wealth of info, as well as some video footage that is ghastly. Abortion is ghastly. I did watch the whole video, at the highest clarity. It is powerful, moving, disturbing, sickening, and necessary. I don't really know where to go from here. Reading the site can ruin your day. Ruin your day in a good way. Check it out. Children should check it out with adult supervision, as there is very graphic images of aborted fetuses. So saddening.

Abort73.com | We Dare You to Know

I have been uncomfortable with abortion since I came to realize that it was an "option". I don't think I was aware of it before 7th grade. I wrote a song in 7th grade against abortion, back in my more punk/protest days. I wasn't a punker, this was just one random song. I honestly don't think I wrote a song since. I have written some poetry, lots of papers, a pile of articles, miles of emails, but I think just one song. I even had a tune that went with it. I remember sharing it with a friend named Jason Schwans (a distant relative of the Schwans food family). Wow that was a long time ago. Through the years I've spent many days thinking about abortion. I had a friend in college who had an abortion, and it really hit close to home. I appreciate my parents choosing to give me life, even though they weren't fully prepared for the timing of my birth. There is a lot wrapped up in that. The fact that I am getting married in 249 days (Dec. 30th 2005!!!!!!!) is a new factor in this thinking. The fact that I may/will be bringing a life into the world someday with Banana (my fiancee) scares and excites me.

If you want to explore some more, come to my blog and poke around. Also, go to the RealChoice link in the sidebar, and the Cemetery of Choice. I can't post direct links because for some reason comments software think the URL is spam.

What sort of abortions do they display?

I have some druthers about using later term abortions to press for making all abortions illegal.

I don´t remember when I first became against abortion. It was quite a long time ago, though my story is not as personal as yours.

Who or what is your banana you keep refering to in many of your posts?

Banana is the "code" name for my Fiancee. There's a funny story behind it, but the purpose for me using it here is to keep her actual name out of my blog. She's aware that I blog, and appreciates the things I say here, but I don't want to unnecessarily take away her privacy.

There is video and photos of a number of different stages of aborted fetuses. It's NOT on the front page, and they give you ample warning when you are going into those sections. There is a video that I highly reccomend watching, but it is graphic.

Thanks again all for reading and commenting!

Thanks for reading Lazlo. I wrote mine in 7th grade just on my own. I hadn't really ever written anything up that point that I am aware of (though I did start writing poetry shortly thereafter). I was inspired by seeing protestors outside the abortion clinic on 41st Street (near the Empire Mall) in Sioux Falls. These people were out there every day, rain, snow, it didn't matter, they were dedicated. I didn't really understand intitially what they were raising such a stink about, but after it was explained to me I really wondered why anyone would want to have an abortion. I was pretty naive about how the world works, what sex was etc. Oh to be that naive again.

I kept thinking that your banana was a pet name for your organ....

I can´t access it on the computers here at sweden, but I would want to be wary or blurring the distinctions between abortions at different stages inasmuch as I still think the fundamental policy issue in contention here is when we should make the unborn human fetus a legally protected human being.

I think I fixed it so there won't be any more confusion. After re-reading it myself I could see how it might be misunderstood.
